Project Spotlight

"The Dream Home"

A couple had just purchased what they hoped would become thier Dream Home and they enlisted Vebicon Contruction to help make that happen. To accomplish this task, they needed to almost completely remodel two floors of their new home including:

  • New windows throughout
  • New hardwood floors in the Living and dining room
  • A completely new Kitchen
  • Central Air-conditioning
  • Two new bathrooms (including the Master)
  • Resurfacing and painting all the walls
  • Crown moldings
  • Re-seating the radiators (partially recessed)
  • Wiring for internet and cable
  • New master closet
  • And more..

Central Air Conditioning

To convert the house to Central Air & Heating, vents had to be installed in each room. The supply and return vents were routed through closets on each floor.

Windows

Since the existing windows were original, new windows were installed throughout the house. Bonneville windows were chosen due to their combination of quality and reasonable price. The molding and window sills were also replaced.

Walls

After the Vent and Window installation, all the walls were patched and skim coated for a consistent texture, and then painted.

Hardwood Floor

The floors in the Living room, Dining room and all the hallways were completely replaced. The new White Oak floors were stained and polyurethane coated for durability

Living Room

In addition to the floors, windows and walls, the Living Room Fireplace was completely changed to match the new décor including a new mantel and marble face. Since there was originally no ceiling lighting, high hat were added along with dimmer switches..

Kitchen

Since the kitchen was quite small, it was re-designed for efficiency. Tall cabinets, deep stainless steel sink, Granite counters, tiles floors and new Kitchen Aid space savings appliances

Guest Bathroom

The guest bathroom on the main floor is only a 1/2 bath. A stand-out feature of this bathroom was the tin ceiling.

Master Bathroom

The master bathroom was in need of an update and was also completely re-done.

Master Bedroom

Other than the windows, floors and closets that were discussed earlier, the two biggest changes in the Master Bedroom were the closets and the radiators. Originally there were two closets of different sizes that were side by side. Both were completely torn down and combined into one master closet.

To increase the floor space, the radiators were replaced and partially recessed into the walls.

This comprehensive remodel was successfully completed in only three months all while the owners were living in the house. A challenging process but I think you'll agree, a job well done.
